Enrol your child at Pinocchio Educentre

Appointed by the Department of Social Development the child welfare branch does its best with the resources at hand to look out for the safety of families and children in the greater Edenvale and Bedfordview areas.

Pieter le Roux, chairperson of Child Welfare SA – Edenvale and Bedfordview, reminded community members that the doors of Pinocchio Educare Centre are still open.

The centre, a dedicated outreach programme of the welfare, has several vacancies for its three to five-year-old class.

Pieter said the centre is not accepting any Grade R learners at the moment. “The centre caters for low income earning families who live in Edenvale and can’t afford a mainstream school,” said Pieter.

“With qualified educators, cooked meals and CCTV cameras learners at the school are in good hands.” Vice-chairperson of the welfare Nikki van der Walt said classrooms are fully equipped for the learners’ needs while snacks and cool drinks are provided to learners daily.

She said like any school, admissions and vetting procedures are followed. Appointed by the Department of Social Development, the child welfare branch does its best with the resources at hand to look out for the safety of families and children in the greater Edenvale and Bedfordview areas.

Pieter said because the welfare works with the department its centre is subsidised so it can assist low income earning families.
