Love will always find a way

“Never throw in the towel, you have to push through the hard moments to get to the good times.”

Carlo and Loredana Kaminski from Bedfordview celebrated 40 years of marriage on February 7.
The couple, who met in 1981, met through work after Carlo visited the store Loredana worked at to check on some fixtures which were installed.

Carlo was 23 and Loredana was 19. Loredana said she had her eye on somebody else at the time but a colleague encouraged the pair to interact.

“The one evening I attended at a dance evening hosted by our companies and I was playing some darts, minding my own business, when my colleague and Carlo came over and we spoke for a while,” said Loredana.

Shortly after the social, Loredana was going over her writing course material at work when Carlo visited her.

“He came to pick up some wedding cards and struck up a conversation, taking an interest in my writing.

“Carlo told me I was going to be his partner to the wedding he was invited to and so I went, and here we are 40 years later.”

After going to the wedding with Carlo, Loredana dated Carlo for four years before saying yes to his marriage proposal.

Loredana said although the couple has had their ups and downs, its important never to give up.

“Never throw in the towel, you have to push through the hard moments to get to the good times.”

For their anniversary, the couple paid a visit to the church where they said their vows 40 years ago and reminisced bout the years gone by.
