Festival of Lights endorses entrepreneurs during the festive period

This week festival-goers will be taken into a realm of dance delivered by the well-known, Tribhangi Dance Theatre delivering a repertoire that includes African, Indian, Contemporary and Afro-fusion.

As the festive fever grows to tangible degrees in the atmosphere, Joburg Theatre together with Joburg City Parks and Zoo, City Power and City of Joburg continues to enthral visitors to the Festival of Lights with world class performances and dynamic collection of small businesses that are operating stalls for the duration of the festival.

This week festival-goers will be taken into a realm of dance delivered by the well-known, Tribhangi Dance Theatre delivering a repertoire that includes African, Indian, Contemporary and Afro-fusion.

The highly talented crew is a contemporary dance company dedicated to creating performances of original South African choreography.

Patrons will experience a treat of music soothing the mood to the lighting of illuminated animal structures; a ‘three bends in a body’ dance celebrating and demonstrating a unique presentation with a challenging experimentation; delicious decadent treats and other meals which can be bought from the stalls operating there which includes the likes of Go-Fish food truck SA, which sells an array of delicious seafood; Curry Corner which sells delicious curries that can be enjoyed while watching performances among many others.

Following the Presidential announcement on Monday regarding the second wave of Covid-19 Festival of Lights organisers announced that all performances and festival activities will end no later than 9pm to allow ample time for staff and festival goers to get home before the curfew.

Performance dates and times are December 15, 16, 17, 18, 19 and 20 from 7pm to 8.30pm at Johannesburg Zoo.
