In an attempt to keep residents safe, the Bedfordview CPF has provided tips to avoid robberies.

Common robberies
Avoid using cellphones while walking and, where possible, walk in groups.
If you have to use your cellphone then be aware of your surroundings and take note of any possible suspicious individuals and vehicles.
Should you feel at risk, make your way to the closest secured area and request assistance on the BCPF Sector Emergency group, detailing your exact location.

Follow home robberies
Avoid wearing expensive watches and jewellery to shopping centres.
The BCPF warns that “spotters” are out and about who then pass information on to syndicates that then conduct home robberies.
Follow from bank robberies
Avoid drawing large sums of money from banks or ATMs, in particular on Fridays as it is known to be wage day.
Don’t advise people of your intention to visit the bank and while there pay attention to your surroundings, both inside and outside the bank, as well as on your way back home or to the office.
