#CreateTomorrow with Eastgate Shopping Centre

Liberty Two Degrees launched its #CreateTomorrow campaign to help those worst affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.The campaign aims to bring about human action and conversation, while giving hope and showing empathy to those affected during these uncertain times.

Eastgate Shopping Centre was one of the centres selected to participate in the initiative.

In June, the shopping centre launched its three-month long Winter Essentials Drive.Through the drive members of the public could donate much needed items, such as clothing, blankets, groceries and toiletries, for those most affected by the nationwide lockdown.

Three visible donation boxes were placed in the shopping centre which served as the drop-off points for these donations.

“We are grateful to our valued shoppers, because with their generous donations, Eastgate Shopping Centre is handing over overwhelming amounts of supplies to the Kensington CAN organisation,” said Kelly Belman the general manager of the shopping centre.

“We thank everyone for their thoughtful contributions to this cause, and this initiative serves as proof that together we can make a positive impact in our community and for those in need.”

Kensington CAN is a Community Action Network based in the suburb of Kensington, Johannesburg. Their mission is to respond to the social needs presented in the community, whether it be through providing food, masks, hygiene and living essentials, or learning resources.
