Edenvale Marathon donations finalised

The club raised and donated R348 000 to 12 beneficiaries with the main beneficiary being Rainbow and Smiles.

Several months after the Edenvale Marathon was held, the long-awaited process of providing donations was completed.

Held in March by Rand Road Warriors Edenvale the marathon saw thousands of runners take to the streets and raise hundreds of thousands for Edenvale’s charities.

The club raised and donated R348 000 to 12 beneficiaries with the main beneficiary being Rainbow and Smiles.

“The lockdown affected the timing of providing the beneficiaries with donations,” said Sharon Holton, organiser of this year’s race.

“We were so fortunate. If our marathon had been a week or two later the marathon may not have happened.”
