CoE gets wheels rolling on Edenvale taxi rank repair

The City of Ekurhuleni will repair several infrastructure-related issues identified by the NEWS when it reported on the condition of the Eden Mall Taxi Rank.

The NEWS reported on Ward 18 Clr Heather Hart’s concerns regarding the rank in its July 1 edition of the paper.

CoE divisional head of communication and media relations, Nhlanhla Cebekhulu, said the matters were on the City’s agenda before the NEWS sent its enquiry.

Cebekhulu said the Real Estate Department was directed to repair and maintain the paving, fences, gates, taps, ablution facilities, stormwater drain and remove the pile of refuse.

“The department has a contract with a company that provides cleaning services. Issues are being attended to and contractors are expected to start working at the rank in the coming weeks.”
