Former St Andrew’s learner plays in Online World Saxophone Orchestra

Cailin Rabie is currently studying for a bachelor of music degree at the University of Stellenbosch.

St Andrew’s School for Girls 2015 matriculant Cailin Rabie joined 52 musicians from 20 different countries around the world, who collaborated in playing ‘What a Wonderful World’ as part of the Online World Saxophone Orchestra recently.
The message of the orchestra was to encourage others to stay united and create as much art as you possibly can.
Cailin started playing saxophone when she was nine years old, and music has always been one of her biggest passions.
She is currently studying for a bachelor of music degree at the University of Stellenbosch and is in her fourth and final year, and is specialising in saxophone performance under the tutelage of Liam Burden.
Cailin also plays the alto saxophone in the Stellenbosch University’s Symphonic Wind Band, Jazz Band and Saxophone Quartet.
She has was awarded a membership for the International Golden Key Society for her academics for the past four years.
After she graduates, Cailin hopes to do a postgraduate degree, alongside performing and part-time teaching.
