Covid-19: No deaths recorded in North West Province

A total of 13 people are recovering from Covid-19.

The roll out of mass screening, testing and contact tracing for Covid-19 is continuing in the North West province.

Field workers and healthcare workers are visiting villages, towns and cities to screen residents for Covid-19 symptoms.

On April 21, 25 positive cases were reported with no deaths accounted for in this province.

Thirteen people are recovering from the virus.

Banjala Platinum District is at the epicentre with 17 reported cases.

 

Dr Kenneth Kaunda District follows with 5 positive cases, Ngaka Modiri Molema District has 2 and Dr Ruth Segomotsi Mompati District has 1.

To date 505 people were tested in the province of which 408 tested negative.

A total of 146 tests are still pending.

North West Health MEC Madoda Sambatha urged people to stay at home.”

“The virus doesn’t move, people move it,” Sambatha said.
