Join the Carnival City annual cycle, mountain bike and trail run races

The 5km event is also pet friendly too.

Germiston Rotary and Germiston Wheelers Cycle Club invites the community to join the annual cycle, mountain bike (MTB) and trail run races, Carnival City Macsteel National Classic.

The event takes place on October 26 and 27.

The main purpose of the races is to raise money for local charities.

Particularly in support of Rotary Projects, Rotary Foundation and to grow cycling in South Africa.

Through this event, organisers have been able to make significant donations to many charities in Ekurhuleni.

The races will cater for a 60km and 34km MTB race, and a six to 12km MTB race for children. This takes place on Saturday from 7am.

On Sunday, the road cycle race takes place from 6am.

The Discovery 947 Ride Joburg event will take place three weeks later.

Distances of 110km and 58km on a relatively flat course means it is possible to ride the full distance without walking.

At the same time, from 7am, the third edition of the trail run, with distances of 5km, 10km and 21km will be on.

The 5km event is also pet friendly.
