Latest: Large crowd gathers outside Yeoville SAPS after shooting

Community members are singing and chanting and demanding to see the Station Commander.

A large crowd of community members gathered at the Yeoville SAPS this evening after a man was allegedly gunned down on Yeo Street earlier today.

No statements have been released by the spokesperson of Yeoville SAPS, Capt Sifiso Mabizela, after the EXPRESS contacted him.

A relative of the deceased man, who did not want to be named, said that before the incident, family members were awaiting the arrival of the corpse of another man who was stabbed to death on the same street on May 14.

The circumstances of the shooting are unclear.

Community members are singing and chanting and demanding to see the Station Commander. A police officer on the ground advised that the group awaits the arrival of a spokesperson from the provincial SAPS office.
