Officers commended at Joburg East SAPS Annual Excellence Awards

During the awards, Parkview SAPS was named the best station of the year. Hillbrow SAPS was named the second best station while Cleveland SAPS took the third place.

Joburg East SAPS Cluster hosted its first Excellence Awards at Sunnyside Hotel in Park Town on October 19.

Programme director of the event from Jeppe SAPS Mongi Nkomentaba said the awards were held to honour their members.

“This is a national initiative that has been hosted every year but it was the first event in our cluster. We hosted the event to thank all our members for their dedication and also to motivate them to work even harder,” he said.

During the awards, Parkview SAPS was named the best station of the year.

Hillbrow SAPS was named the second best station while Cleveland SAPS took the third place.

The awards were as follows:

Individual admin level 5-7:

• Principle personnel officer Freda Diale of Parkview SAPS.

Individual Admin level 8-12:

• Capt Crlstal Potgieter from Cleveland.

Vispol Categories:

• Const Mulalo Khangale from Cleveland SAPS.

Vispol individual level 8-12:

• Capt Nthabiseng Magowa from Hillbrow SAPS.

Group Vispol level 8-12:

• Lt Col Lesetja Ledwaba of Parkview SAPS.

• Sgt Maliyakhe Nzama of Parkview SAPS.

• Const Padima Makhudu of Parkview SAPS.

Detective group of the year:

• Lt Col Elisabeth Mathakgala from Cleveland SAPS.

• Capt Jan Molepo of Parkview SAPS.

• Constable KhaZamula Shilaluki of Parkview SAPS.

• Const Patrick Moilwa of Parkview SAPS.

• Sgt Priscilla Kone of Parkview SAPS.

• Principle personnel officer Lilian Mafora of Parkview SAPS.

• Sgt Emmanuel Manganyi of Parkview SAPS.

The awards were attended by station commanders around the cluster.

Cluster commander Brigadier Azwinndini Nengovhela congratulated the winners.

“He encouraged the commanders to commend members where it’s needed. We hope members win more awards next year,” said Nkomentaba.
