Shows will start at 7pm on each night.

The show is made up of two one-act plays, both of which will represent Jeppe Girls at the Festival for Excellence in Dramatic Arts at the Joburg Theatre in May.

The plays will challenge views on society and ask the audience to step towards an empathetic and kind way of living.

The Other Way, a new play written by Ms M. Pugin, shows a group of vagrants who battle it out for society’s scraps. Born Free, written by the cast of this play, challenges the ideas that we are, in fact, born free.

The night’s performances will also include a dance show.

This story-through-dance is called Patriarchy, Pain and Passion and takes the audience through the journey of a woman who finds hope and power.

Choreographed by a Jeppe old girl, Meghan Jarvis, this piece brings together hip-hop, jazz, contemporary, modern and classical styles of dancing.

The Orchestra From Scratch will round off the evening with beautiful music.

Refreshments and supper will be on sale from 5pm on both nights.

Tickets are available from the school.
