ONLINE EXCLUSIVE: MMC disappointed with councillors’ refusal to participate in #AReSebetseng

JOBURG – The campaign encourages communities to take pride in the areas by maintaining and cleaning them.

City of Johannesburg MMC for Community Development Clr Nonhlanhla Sifumba expressed disappointment in Region D ward councillors for not taking part in the September 30 A Re Sebetseng clean-up campaign.

The campaign encourages communities to take pride in the areas by maintaining and cleaning areas.

It was launched by the executive mayor of Joburg, Clr Herman Mashaba, in Yeoville in August.

“It seeks to promote a culture of cleanliness in areas that are associated with dirt. A cleaner Johannesburg will be more attractive to visitors and investors.

“A Re Sebetseng intends making Johannesburg a more attractive investment destination,” said Sifumba.

She said she was pleased that some community members were not discouraged by the ward councillors who did not want to participate.

“Residents came out in their numbers to ensure a cleaner neighborhood,” she said.

Sifumba thanked residents who took part in the campaign.

“I am looking forward to seeing more community members coming out on the last Saturday of every month to ensure a cleaner Johannesburg we can all be proud of,” she said.
