A murder suspect is believed to have drunk the blood of his victim (30) after stabbing him.
Jeppe SAPS arrested the 33-year-old suspect on Derby Road in Bertrams on July 23.
The arrest came after police received a tip-off about the murder.
“Police proceeded to the provided address. Upon arrival, they found the body of a 30-year-old man lying in a pool of blood,” said Jeppe SAPS spokesperson Captain Richard Munyai.
Munyai said the deceased had been stabbed with a sharp object.
“The murder weapon was found next to the body,” he said.
The suspect was found on the scene and is alleged to have drunk the blood of the deceased after he stabbed him.
“Police arrested him and took him to Jeppe SAPS where he was charged and detained. He appeared at Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court and the case was postponed for further investigations while he remains in custody,” said Munyai.
