Three nabbed in connection to business robbery and murder

JOBURG – Police arrest three suspects.

 

Police arrested three suspects, two men and a woman on 13 June in connection with a double murder and business robbery.

One of the three suspects allegedly shot the owner of the Zebra Inn in Jeppestown, Verna Joseph Peherchtold and his friend Johann Botha on 7 June. “They went to the storeroom and took two 9mm pistols and an undisclosed amount of cash from a safe and fled the scene,” said Jeppe police spokesperson Captain Richard Munyai.

A case of murder and business robbery was opened at Jeppe Police Station. Munyai said two suspects [men] were arrested in Malvern and the woman was arrested in KwaZulu-Natal.

The three suspects, aged 19, 27 and 32 are being detained at Jeppe Police Station while police investigations continue.
