New era for Kensington Residents and Ratepayers Association

KENSINGTON – Association brings positive change to Kensington.

The I love Kensington Association (Ilka) has been renamed to Kensington Residents and Ratepayers Association (KRRA).

The new name was adopted at a special general meeting held on 20 May at the Kensington Club. The purpose of the meeting was to approve changes to the association’s constitution allowing for a longer term in office for the committee.

The association’s chairperson, Brendon Burmester said, “The reason for the name change is that we felt the association was having an identity crisis and losing meaning. With so many ‘I love’ my community groups, people were getting confused about what the association was all about.”

The new KRRA committee has been working hard to implement positive changes within the association.

Brendon said it was important to motivate Kensingtonians to become members.

A special launch is planned for early July to reveal the new look of the association.

“We are entering an exciting era for Kensington as more and more community members are getting involved in the numerous initiatives and this can only result in a more integrated and vibrant community.”

He also urged the community to support and join the association and make a difference together.
