Jeppe High School for Girls crowned cricket champions for the third time

JOBURG – Jeppe played against a combined Soweto schools team in the final on 8 March and beat them by 33 runs.

Jeppe High School for Girls is the Central Gauteng cricket champions for the third year in a row.

Jeppe played against a combined Soweto schools team in the final on 8 March and beat them by 33 runs. According to the school’s public relations officer Carole Heming, Jeppe batted first and scored 132/3 in 20 overs.

“Sihle Ntsoko scored 67 runs and the captain Jenna Searle scored 35 runs. Soweto scored 101 runs all out. During the Soweto innings, Samantha Schutte took four wickets,” said Heming.

The Woman of the Match went to Jeppe’s Megan Reveley who opened the batting, took three wickets and fielded superbly.

The team is coached by Dirk Bloem.
