Toddler falls from balcony

JOBURG – A toddler has been transported to Johannesburg General Hospital for treatment after falling from a balcony.

A three-year-old boy sustained minor injuries after he fell 4m from a balcony of a flat in Klein Street in Johannesburg on 12 January.

According to ER24 spokesperson, Russel Meiring the boy was being comforted by his mother when paramedics and the City of Johannesburg Emergency Management Services (EMS) arrived on the scene.

“Upon assessment, paramedics found that the child was fortunate in having sustained only minor injuries. The patient was treated by ER24 and EMS. He was later transported by another service to Johannesburg General Hospital for further treatment,” said Meiring.

It is believed that he was playing on the balcony when he fell.
