Jo’burg East cluster celebrates prestige awards winner

JOHANNESBURG - Jo'burg East police cluster celebrates an award winner.

The Joburg East police cluster celebrated the Gauteng Prestige 2016 Woman of the Year award, which was won by Sergeant Iris Phoko of Parkview police.

Although the official awards function, hosted by the South African Police Service in Pretoria, the Joburg East cluster celebrated Phoko’s achievement on 2 December at Marks Park Sports Club in Emmarentia.

“The event was attended by the cluster commander, Major General Dimakatso Ndaba, the cluster Community Policing Forum chairperson Denzel Goldstone, station commanders from all seven stations, communications officers, Vispol heads, support commanders, social crime prevention, cluster personnel and other members of Parkview police,” said Jeppe police spokesperson Captain Richard Munyai.

Phoko has now been nominated for the prestigious national awards. “Cluster management wishes her luck and hopes she will bring the national award to the cluster,” said Munyai.
