Yeoville police officers arrested 37 suspects between 10 and 17 October.
The suspects were arrested for committing the following transgressions:
- 1 for attempted murder
- 1 for common robbery
- 1 for robbery with a weapon
- 3 for assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm
- 6 for common assault
- 9 for possession of drugs
- 1 for possession of suspected stolen property
- 1 for theft out of a motor vehicle
- 1 for shoplifting
- 3 for driving under the influence of alcohol
- 1 for malicious damage to property
- 7 illegal immigrants
- 2 for reckless and negligent driving.
“The suspects have appeared in court; some have paid their fines while others are out on bail. Some suspects remain in prison while police investigations continue,” said Captain Sifiso Mabizela, the spokesperson for Yeoville Police Station spokesperson.
