Cleveland SAPS arrested a 28-year-old suspect for armed robbery at Nile and Derby roads, Kensington, on September 4.
“A woman was going to the mall when she was approached by a male suspect. The man asked her where her cellular phone was,” said Cleveland SAPS spokesperson Constable Mpho Mashakane.
“She ignored the man and suddenly he took out a knife. He grabbed her handbag and ran away. The woman screamed for help and the security officers who were passing by came to her rescue. They chased the suspect and apprehended him,” said Constable Mashakane.
“The suspect was handed to the Cleveland SAPS. He was arrested for armed robbery,” said Const Mashakane.
