96 suspects arrested in one week

All suspects appeared in court while others have paid fines. Police will continue arresting those who are caught at the wrong side of the law and investigations on those arrested are still continuing,

Jeppe SAPS arrested a total of 96 suspects for committing different crimes ranging from armed robbery to possession of unlicensed firearms.

The arrests were made from August 17 to 24.

“Three suspects were arrested for possession of suspected stolen copper cables, one for armed robbery and one suspect was arrested for possession of drugs and bribery,” said Jeppe SAPS spokesperson Warrant Officer Richard Munyai.

The arrests also included:

  •  16 suspects were arrested for common assault and two were arrested for theft.
  •  Two suspects were arrested for possession of unlicensed firearm.
  •  Two suspects were arrested for malicious damage to property.
  •  Three suspects were arrested for possession of dagga.
  •  One suspect was arrested for housebreaking and theft.
  •  One suspect was arrested for possession of a stolen motor vehicle.
  •  Three suspects were arrested for common robbery.
  •  Three suspects were arrested for drunk and driving.
  •  Two suspects were arrested for possession of suspected stolen property.

“All suspects appeared in court while others have paid fines. Police will continue arresting those who are caught on the wrong side of the law. Investigations into the arrests made will continue,” said W/O Richard Munyai.
