Winning team donates to charity

The day kicked off with a game of women’s handball.

The Cameron Society had its annual soccer and handball sports day on November 29.

The event is aimed at bringing the community together through sports and to raise money to donate to NPOs in Kensington and the surrounding areas.

The day kicked off with a game of women’s handball.

The final match saw the Kwang team took on Budeca, which proved to be a tough opponent as they defended well.

The final score was 4-1 in favour of Budeca, which made Budeca the champions for 2015.

This is the seventh year the tournament was held.

The money won by the team will be donated to the Johannesburg Children’s Home.

“We are happy we won as we have been training hard and it paid off. We are also happy we are going to give back to the community,” said Ticha Fonkam, the founder of the tournament.
