A 24- year-old Rhodes Park double murder suspect abandoned his bail application.
The man was arrested after two couples were attacked by a gang of 12 in Rhodes Park on October 17.
The men were assaulted, their hands were tied and were then thrown into the lake. One woman was raped. The bodies of the men were retrieved later that evening.
Before the case was adjourned on Tuesday, Dumisani Mabunda, his lawyer, said he was abandoning his client’s bail application because his address could not be verified.
Earlier this month, the police arrested a second suspect in Yeoville. Both suspects come from Zimbabwe.
The men will appear in court on December 9.
Both men will remain in custody until then.
