Revamped Makro store enhances shopping experience
To mark its 20th birthday, Makro Crown Mines has revamped its store and, although it has been trading during the revamp process, the official re-opening will be on 14 November.
CROWN MINES – “The store has been an integral part of the Crown Mines community” says Lez Pramjeeth, Makro Crown Mines general manager. “So after 20 years of service in the community and advancement of technology in the retail market, we felt that it was necessary for us to modernise the store and enhance our customers shopping experience while lessening our environmental impact.”
The building incorporates high-performance refrigeration, daylight harvesting, heat reclamation systems (regulating the store’s temperature) and makes use of LED lights. This all contributes towards minimizing electricity consumption and improving overall energy efficiency.
Makro has carried out other improvements to make the store more spacious, less congested and ensure that it provides customers with an even better and more enjoyable shopping experience.
To improve logistics and efficiency, the store now has an increased trading space which allows for higher shelves that can accommodate more food and general merchandise products. Other upgrades include additional tills, skylights that provide better and brighter lighting as well as a new returns area that is strategically positioned so that customer do not need to enter the main store for assistance.
To better serve its bulk commercial customers, Makro Crown Mines has made the bulk traders area larger, created an additional dispatch area for bulk liquor and provided extra parking bays for bulk customers.
Makro is hosting a relaunch event on Saturday, November 14, where great deals and entertainment for the family will be on offer.
