The case against the Rhodes Park double murder suspect, Thabo Nkala, has been postponed to November 9.
Nkala will remain in police custody.
He and other 11 accomplices attacked two couples who were at Rhodes Park on October 17. The incident took place shortly before 7pm.
Two men were assaulted and thrown into the lake. Their bodies were retrieved three hours later by police divers.
One woman was raped while the other managed to fight off her attackers.
