Real Talk with Duenna

In his verdict, the Coroner, Chief Magistrate Oyetade Komolafe, ordered the prosecution of the contractors that constructed the collapsed building.

The South African Council of Churches (SACC) recently revealed intentions to regulate pastors. Yep, pastors.

If I’d read this a decade ago I would have thought the organisation’s leaders have gone nuts. But no, I completely get why some pastors need censoring.

What breaks my heart though is the fact that it had to take the SACC to try and save our people from the amount of brainwash and manipulation they have gotten themselves into.

These so-called men and women of God have our brothers and sisters on lockdown and it is sad to watch.

In July, the Coroner’s Inquest into the collapse of a guest cottage owned by Nigeria’s Synagogue Church of All Nations (Scoan) found the church guilty of negligence.

For those who don’t know what am talking about, on September 12 last year a guest cottage belonging to Scoan collapsed and killed 116 people, mainly South Africans. Prophet TB Joshua, the church’s leader, claimed it was the devil’s doing.

What saddened me about this story is that even families of the victims believe and maintain that it was indeed the devil, in the form of an airplane, that took down the building.

In his verdict, the Coroner, Chief Magistrate Oyetade Komolafe, ordered the prosecution of the contractors that constructed the collapsed building.

He also said the church should be investigated and be proceeded against under the law by the relevant authority for not possessing the necessary building permits.

We are living in a time where people want to be given tangible items to believe God exists.

People want to be told who is responsible for the things going wrong in their lives.

Christians today believe that only anointing oils, lotions and water prayed for by a “prophet” will get them to God.

What ever happened to logic? The Bible? See what I mean by brainwashed.

Before you cast stones, I am not ignorant – I know the use of anointing oils is biblical. But I have a problem with pastors who only give you oil and not Christ Himself.

Don’t even get me get started on the idiots who convince people to eat rats, weaves, snakes and whatever stuff they make you believe they can turn into food. I do not recognise them as pastors and I don’t plan to change my mind anytime soon.

In my previous piece I wrote about how people would rather pay about R20 000 to fly to Nigeria for a church service while their own churches and local charities are in need just so they can be prophesied.

This got some of you upset with me. Some wondered how I dare question big shots like the prophet even though am a PK (Pastor’s Kid) myself.

Well, as a matter of fact, I stand by what I said and what was taught to me by my dad – that salvation is the only miracle the devil cannot perform. Everything else he can counterfeit.

Now that that’s out the way, can we all please just stop running after miracles. Aseblief toe.

PS: The beginning of all wisdom is to fear God.
