Resident stands up against e-tolling

“I am making a difference. I am making people aware that the e-tolls are not right and they should not pay for them."

Bez Valley resident, Mr Patrick Jones, led a one-man campaign against e-tolls last Friday.

Mr Jones held up banners that denounced the e-tolls.

“I am making a difference. I am making people aware that the e-tolls are not right and they should not pay for them. We are paying too much tax.

“We pay tax when we buy petrol. We pay tax when we renew car licenses. All this money goes towards road maintenance. Now we have to pay e-tolls also? No way,” said Mr Jones.

He undertook to not pay e-tolls, even if it means he cannot renew his vehicle’s license.

“If the threat of not issuing a car license discs for not paying e-tolls is carried out, I will pay for my license disc and ask for the receipt. If they do not give me the disc, I will display the receipt instead of a disc,” he said.
