Six caught with unlicensed firearm

The police immediately rushed to the given address and found six men sitting in a Toyota taxi.

The Jeppe SAPS arrested six suspects for possession of an unlicensed firearm.

On Tuesday, November 4, police officers received information that the men were about to commit a robbery in the Jeppestown area.

The police immediately rushed to the given address and found six men sitting in a Toyota taxi.

Upon searching the suspects, one of the men dropped a firearm.

Warrant Officer Richard Munyayi said when the police checked the firearm, they discovered that the serial number had been filed off and was loaded with six rounds.

All six suspects, aged between 28 and 30, were arrested.

They will appear in court soon and police investigations are continuing.
