Two assaulted in armed robbery
The suspects assaulted a security guard who was posted at the main gate before they proceeded inside.
A security guard and an accountant were assaulted during a robbery at a company on Main Reef Road in Denver on Monday, November 3, shortly after 9am.
The Cleveland SAPS communications officer, Constable Mpho Mashakane, said the men were armed with three pistols and an AK47 rifle. The suspects assaulted a security guard who was posted at the main gate before they proceeded inside.
“The security guard was standing at the gate when the men approached him. They asked him if there was another security guard. They then assaulted him. One stayed behind, to keep watch on the guard, while others went into the company. They assaulted an accountant who was inside. The men then took her R2 000 from the accountant and R1 000 belonging to the company,” said Const Malatji.
