Illegal firearm confiscated, suspect arrested
The officers gave chase and managed to arrest one of the suspects. He was found in possession of a firearm.
Johannesburg Flying Squad officers arrested a suspect with an unlicensed firearm on October 29.
The officers were patrolling along Jules and 5th streets in Malvern when they noticed a group of residents pointing towards two suspicious men. The men were running away from the group.
The officers gave chase and managed to arrest one of the suspects. He was found in possession of a firearm.
The suspect failed to produce a license for the firearm and was subsequently arrested.
According to Constable Mpho Mashakane, the firearm had four live rounds in it.
The suspect was detained at the Cleveland SAPS.
