A 24-year-old woman was arrested for stabbing her boyfriend to death.
The incident took place at the couple’s home, next to Lodge and Jules streets, in Malvern on Saturday, November 1, shortly before 4am.
The Cleveland SAPS communications officer, Constable Mpho Mashakane, said a quarrel ensured when the boyfriend arrived home after a night out with a friend.
“Minutes after a friend dropped the man off at home, he received a call on his cellular phone. It was the girlfriend saying they were fighting because the boyfriend did not want to give her money,” said Const Mashakane.
Const Mashakane added that the friend went back to try and calm the situation.
“As they were talking, the friend claimed the woman went out and returned with a knife. She stabbed her boyfriend several times in the chest,” said Const Mashakane.
She said the man was certified dead at the scene by the paramedics.
The woman was arrested and will appear in court soon, facing a murder charge.
