Malvern pupils to excel in art

Mrs Matilda Thabethe, from Malvern Primary School, said hundreds of pupils from more than five schools in Gauteng will be performing dances, music and drums.

Malvern Primary School pupils will showcase their talent at the Sun Cares School’s Festival, which will be held at Bree Primary School.

The art festival will start on Tuesday, October 27 and will end on October 31.

Mrs Matilda Thabethe, from Malvern Primary School, said hundreds of pupils from more than five schools in Gauteng will be performing dances, music and drums.

“This is the art and culture event. This year’s theme is Mother Earth. With their performance, our pupils will show that the Earth is ours and we need to take care of it. They will portray what will happen if we do not take care of it,” said Mrs Thabethe.

She added that preparing the event has taught both pupils and the teachers a few things.

“As teachers, we were reminded that pupils are not the same. There are those who learn easily outside the classroom, while others learn more easily inside the classroom. It also exposes our pupils to opportunities in the arts industry,” she said.
