Firearms recovered following arrest

Two men were arrested and two pistols recovered after a man was threatened with firearms next to the corner of Queen and Toorongo streets on Monday morning.

The Cleveland SAPS communications officer, Constable Mpho Mashikane, said three men arrived with firearms, where the victim was working as a mechanic and threatened him.

“The suspects asked him why he was fixing cars on the corner of the streets. They threatened to shoot him. When they left, the victim called the police. Police officers followed the direction the suspects had fled and found them. On searching them, two pistols were recovered from the men,” she said.

She added that another man is still on the run.
