Suspects wanted for attempted business robbery in Yeoville

They demanded the keys to the safe and tried to open it

Two suspects are wanted for an attempted business robbery in Yeoville. The incident took place at the corner of Raleigh and Kenmere streets on Sunday, September 7.

According Const Thabo Malatji, the spokesperson of the Yeoville SAPS, the victim was at his place of work when he saw two men approaching the shop. He could see the men through a window. The suspects were armed with firearms and demanded that the victim open the door or they would shoot him. Const Malatji said out of fright, the victim opened the door and the men assaulted him with a firearm. The victim was struck on the head. They demanded the keys to the safe and tried to open it, but the security alarm went off and due to the noise, the suspects fired a shot and fled the scene, without taking anything.  Const Malatji said anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects can contact the Yeoville SAPS on 011 487-5921/2 @JoburgJourno
