Ward 118 by-elections to take place

The ward 118 by-elections will take place on July 2.

Information about only two of the candidates was forwarded to the EXPRESS.

Mr John Mkhumbuzi, the ANC candidate and a Malvern resident, said he will serve the community. “I will fight against corruption. I will listen to the views of the community and hold regular public meetings with all community members,” he said.

He also hopes to speed up service delivery, guided by the Integrated Development Plan and he will work with the community to fight crime and drug abuse.

The DA has nominated Mr Mike Spadino, a Malvern resident, as its candidate. Mr Spadino said issues he would like to deal with if he is elected are the stringent enforcement of by-laws with regards to illegal land usage, building contraventions and dumping. He would also like to ensure that the City of Johannesburg (CoJ) utilities provide the expected service delivery.

Mr Spadino has a keen interest in security.
