The 2014 Supersport Wheelchair Basketball Series continued at the Mandeville Sports Centre over the weekend.
EHK Mongoose beat the Buffalo City Bears 53 – 50.
It was a good win for EHK Mongoose, as they led the half by 15 points. The Buffalo Bears, however, would not accept defeat lying down. The Bears surprised everyone as they clawed their way back into the game. The Bears lost after missing the last free-throw penalty of the game.
According to Mr Charles Saunders, the chief executive officer of Wheelchair Basketball South Africa (WBSA), “There has been an interesting movement on the log this weekend. The Blades top the log with seven wins and the Cape Town Saints edged out the AngloGold Ashanti Lions, jumping up two log places to challenge the Discovery Eagles for the top four position.”
