Dagga seized

Police officers seized dagga at two locations last week.

Constable Mpho Mashakane, the Cleveland SAPS communications officer, said police officers received information about a man selling dagga in Malvern on May 5.

“Police officers went to the address provided in Heriot Street and found a man. They searched the premises and found dagga in a plastic bag,” said Const Mashakane.

The man was arrested and detained at the Cleveland SAPS.

Two days later, police officers were tipped off by residents about illegal activities taking place in Denver.

Police officers went to the property and conducted a search.

Large plastic bags filled with dagga were found in the room. “It is suspected that the room was used to store illegal items. The estimated street value of the dagga is about R500 000,” said Const Mashakane.

Arrests are expected soon.
