Three arrested for stolen property

The officers managed to apprehend the attacker and arrested the other two who attempted to flee the scene.

Three men have been arrested for being in possession of stolen property at a house in Mons Street, Yeoville.

“The police received information about three people who were in possession of stolen property. When officers arrived, they found three men in the house,” said Constable Thabo Malatji of the Yeoville SAPS. The officers identified themselves and one of the men threatened the officers with a screw-driver and tried to stab them.

“The officers managed to apprehend the attacker and arrested the other two who attempted to flee the scene. Officers found appliances, cellular phones believed to be stolen and money hidden in the kitchen which the suspects could not account for,” said Const Malatji.

The suspects were detained at the Yeoville SAPS.

“All the property was booked in at the station and the suspects are expected to appear in the Hillbrow Magistrate’s court soon,” said Const Malatji.
