New wheels for Edenvale teacher

Teachers and learners have been an incredible support to Nell and have helped him whenever needed.

With the start of the school year Edenvale High School teacher Phillip Nell and the school received a very special surprise.

At the school’s first assembly of the year a fully electronic wheelchair was donated by IT Cares for Nell.

Since joining Edenvale High, Nell used a manual wheelchair.

Teachers and learners have been an incredible support to Nell and have helped him whenever needed.

Although the school is well-equipped, maneuvering around in a manual wheelchair can be tedious and time-consuming.

Last year Dowerglen runner, Nuno Morais, drove a number of running campaigns to raise funds for a new wheelchair and hoist for Nell.

The school rallied around Morais and Nell to drive the campaigns which were a success.
