Revving it up for 50 years
The Modderfontein vintage show attracted many locals and other car enthusiasts from across Johannesburg.
Piston Ring Car Show revved up the entertainment as it celebrated its 50th anniversary with cake and cars on January 19 .
Car lovers with family and friends socialised at the beer garden while others gathered around bikes and old-school sports vehicles which were growling all over the open grounds.

Dusty Moon Band played a jovial set with golden oldies and Brian Le Gassick, founder of a historic chart-topping band, The Staccatos, was spotted enjoying the event with friends.
The lead singer revealed he is a vintage car collector as well.
Fathers were in their element as they proudly showed their children vintage cars and asked owners to rev them.
A flea market with collectors’ items and food and clothing with car brands were on sale.
Other club members brought their show-stopping classics and parked them in rows for display and admiration.
The event was divided into a beer garden, bike section, car displays, and the flea market.
On this particular Sunday morning, Piston Ring Club brought out cakes and muffins in celebration of their milestone.
Chairperson of the club Russell Haselau said the 50th anniversary was a symbol of the hard work from the 12 previous chairpersons.
“This is big since it is a difficult task to bring in new members and attract more visitors.”
Frank Rundle, vice chairperson of the club said it meant a lot to reach 50 years and remain the biggest car club in the country.
