“Kieron also went to Edenglen High School although he was younger than the two of us,” said Marc.

Nathan was born in the mysterious Kempton Hospital. He then moved to the West Rand and settled in Edenvale as a young boy.

“Growing up, I was an introvert,” said Nathan.

In matric, Nathan found friends who were involved in music and that is where his journey with music solidified.

“Music helped me shape my entire being and personality. Edenvale has given me something I wouldn’t have had anywhere else,” said Nathan

The backing vocalist and guitarist helps Marc with songwriting.

“Nathan is responsible for the hip swings and dancing during live performances,” said Marc.

The backing vocalist did an intro for the first time in 4am’s latest single called Howling.

“This song is really about enjoying life and making the most out of it.”

Two of their best all-time singles are Burn and African Skies.

Edenvale band 4am thanked their Edenvale community for the ongoing support the band has received.

Burn is catchy and African Skies celebrates SA culture according to Nathan and Marc.

“All of our music has a meaning,” said Marc.

4am enjoys working with Bedfordview and Edenvale artists like Fuzigish and Slippery When Wet, among others.

Some of their South African influences are Francois van Coke, Jerry and the Bandits, Parlotones, Albert Frost, Dan Pandalisky and Rubber Duck.

“We have co-written songs with Rob Davidson from the Parlotones,” said Marc.

4am singles have been played on major radio stations. Recently the band appeared on Expresso TV show.

The 4am trio have been rocking local markets like the Horwood’s Farm Family Market and many other big festivals in South Africa such as Ultra Fest.

“This year has had great shows and line-ups and it feels like it just gets better and better. And we will never be too proud to play at weddings and even children’s parties,” said Nathan.

The band’s words of advice for upcoming youngsters are to be unique.

The band plans to record a new EP early next year.

Marc and Nathan thanked the community of Edenvale and everyone who always support them by attending their shows.
