Edenglen learner Golden Lions’ ranks

‘’I am grateful for being given the opportunity to be part of the team ."

Siyabonga Mphuthi, a Grade 11 learner at Edenglen High School, was recently selected for the Golden Lions u-16 team.

Siyabonga’s love for rugby started in Grade Eight when he started to attend Edenglen High School.

He did not take the sport very seriously when he first started. For him it was more for fun than anything else.

Throughout his first rugby season at the school, Siyabonga fell in love with the game and wanted to continue playing the sport and take it more seriously.

Wanting to grow his skills further Siyabonga joined the Wasps Rugby Club allowing him to try out for the Golden Lions u-16 Inter Provicial team.

His hard work and dedication paid off when he was selected for the team.

“I am grateful for being given the opportunity to be part of the team and believe I will be able to showcase my talents at a provincial level.”

Siyabonga joined the Wasps Rugby Club and this allowed him to try out for the Golden Lions u-16 IPT team.

He thanked his coaches and team members at Edenglen High school for the motivation and support through the years.
