Lions team beats Blades
AngloGold Ashanti Lions snatched victory in the game against Bladerunners with 5 points during their SuperSport series encounter at Mandeville on Sunday last week.
Lions coach, Shatimo Moepeng, said that it was a game of ideas.
“This was a tense and closely contested game. It was a game with a high tempo,” he said.
Moepeng said that his plan was to stop Blades’ shooters.
“I know they have got good shooters. I told my boys to keep them under pressure and not to give them space to play. That worked for us,” he said.
The game went into half time with Lions leading by 45 to 42.
In the second half the game changed.
The score was a somersault with both teams leading, taking turns.
“Both of these teams are fast and pacey. Our advantage was that we had more substitutes,” said the Lions coach.
