Berg en Dal Rest Camp nestles in the southern-most region of the world-renowned Kruger National Park, making it the most convenient camp to access from various areas of the Lowveld. The site on which Berg en Dal Rest Camp rests was once a prehistoric settlement and is the only camp in the park to be surrounded by a rugged mountainous landscape, offering not only a safari adventure but an escape to the mountains.

The mountains bring with them an unexplained calmness and solitude, as well as incredible sightings of animals that graze on the grasslands.

Berg en Dal Rest Camp boasts a variety of accommodation options, including campsites, bungalows, cottages, and guesthouses. It is a favourite amongst families and small groups of friends as several of the self-catering units can accommodate as many as six people, with one guesthouse accommodating up to eight people.

The facilities at this rest camp are some of the best, including a restaurant, cafeteria, grocery shop, internet cafe, cellphone tower, laundromat, fuel station, braai facilities, Auditorium and conference venues, picnic area, and a swimming pool.

Game viewing is particularly good in this area of the park, with the elusive leopard seen often around the dam in front of the camp. Elephant and wild dog sightings are also great in this area and lions are usually found in the lower plains between Skukuza and Crocodile Bridge. For guests eager to see the Big Five, Berg en Dal Rest Camp is a great start to ticking off at least two or three of the five.

The Kruger which spans over two million hectares offers sanctuary to 147 mammal species and over 500 species of bird. Berg en Dal Rest Camp offers its guests the opportunity to explore on their own or take advantage of guided game drives and bush walks offered by qualified rangers. There is also an opportunity to book overnight wilderness trails that explore higher ground, discovering San bushmen rock paintings and viewing a variety of wildlife up-close, particularly rhino and buffalo. The camp also offers a rhino perimeter trail camp walk and various bush dining experiences.
