An Edenvale High School learner will face a disciplinary hearing after a video of her punching another learner was circulated on social media.
The video was shared by Gauteng Education MEC Panyaza Lesufi on March 11 and garnered 47 000 views. The video was retweeted over 500 times.

“The learner who assaulted another girl was suspended pending a disciplinary hearing on March 14,” said Harmer.
“The decision to suspend the learner was made with the other learners’ safety in mind.”
Harmer explained that although the incident occurred off school property and after school hours the governing body took action because the learners were in their school uniform
“Edenvale High has a zero tolerance towards bullying of any kind,” said Harmer.
