This year, the 125th annual Rand Show is hosted from April 19 to 28 at the Nasrec Expo Centre.
Since its inception in 1894, the show’s focus was solely on agriculture. However, in its 125th year, the Rand Show now offers a wide range of pavilions from fitness to gaming.
Craig Newman, CEO of the Rand Show, said the Rand Show used to last for 27 days and brought the entire country to a standstill.
“What the Rand Show has always been about is creating great memories,” said Newman.
The Rand Show and Caxton Local Media have partnered this year.

The Caxton publication, Garden and Home, will showcase the South African National Biodiversity Institute flower display, and visitors could win a trip to the Chelsea Flower Show.
The new fashion, fitness and beauty pavilion, will showcase a variety of classes to participate along with a variety of goods and services.
The Rand Show will also include military display where the South African military will showcase some of their vehicles. Combat fighting demonstrations and synchronised aerial displays will be featured.
