Mashile appointed as Edenvale SAPS spokesperson

“I look forward to working with the community as I did as the head of Edenvale Social Crime Prevention Unit.”

Sgt Jacob Mashile was recently appointed as Edenvale SAPS’ new spokesperson.

Mashile took up the role on January 25 after former spokesperson Capt Jean Olckers left the SAPS earlier this year.

“I look forward to working with the community as I did as the head of Edenvale Social Crime Prevention Unit (SCPU),” said Mashile.

Even though Mashile is the spokesperson, he will continue in his role as the head of the SCPU.

Some of his duties will include relaying information to community members and providing feedback to the Ekurhuleni North District and to the provincial office.

With 16 years of service at Edenvale Police Station, Mashile is confident he will fulfil his new role.

“I have experience as the station’s spokesperson because I assisted Olckers when he was unavailable.”
