As we commemorate Mandela Day, youngsters from the Joburg east area were asked if we were able to turn back time, what question they would have asked Nelson Mandela if they were given the opportunity.
“Since there is the Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund, I would have asked him to build us a community hall here in Malvern. We would like to participate in children’s activities but we can’t because we don’t have resources to do so.”
“I would have asked him how he felt during the apartheid era. I keep reading about what he went through in the books but I would have loved to hear it from him.”
